Even though electric car batteries can be expensive, they can last up to 100,000 miles. Most of these batteries arrive with a 10 year or certain mileage warranty.

The materials used to make it and the size determines how large the capacity of the battery is. Lithium is the best discovered material that is used to make electric batteries, the problem is this variety is the most expensive. But as newer, more efficient varieties of materials and batteries are discovered, this will change.

As expected batteries that have larger capacities are more expensive, in a few electric car companies you can choose the type of battery that you would like to have in your car, one of these companies is Tesla Motors. Be sure to maintain your battery well, for it;s capacity will wither over time. Also, once the battery is fully charged, make sure to unplug it, because this can hurt the capacity.
